I am doing a geography project about Africa with my group. I already got some events down but I need at least 5 more. Can some please tell me what are the 5 important events that have happened in Africa? Years don’t matter. Thanks!

- the Arab conquest of the Maghreb
- Apartheid – its beginning and end
- the partition of Africa by colonial powers (1880-1914)
- the political independence movements (1960s-1970s)
- Structural Adjustment Programs (SAPs) by the IMF/World Bank in the 80s
- Rwanda, Somalia, Liberia, Sierra Leone, DR Congo, Angola – wars and ethnic cleansing
